Parish Talk: “Planting Olive Trees in Palestine”
So! After an intense couple of weeks planning the talk for the local Parish, it was extremely successful and there was a surprising amount of interest too!
There were about 50 people in total and we had members of the Oxford Palestinian Solidarity Campaign coming along to support us too! Wonderful to have people joining us in solidarity with the Palestinian people ![]()
We also had a small stall from ‘A Palestinian History Tapestry’ – showing work of talented Palestinian women who are keeping their heritage alive through embroidery.
We had a Fairtrade stall selling products from Zaytoon (an organisation selling fairtrade produce from Palestine) sold just over £100 of products and almost all of our home-made hummus went too!
The talk raised a lot of interest, particularly, the photographs (full photograph collection, click here). We are now in the middle of producing an information pack for those who are interested. If you would like yo receive one or keep in touch, drop us an email or follow our blog (you can do this from the menu bar on the left). We are also on facebook: ThePalestinianOlive and Twitter @HopefulOlive
Love and peace,
